RED

I am someone who absolutelyyyyyy love Taylor Swift! Ask me who is my favourite singer and the first person that comes to my mind is her, along with Jason Mraz and some others!

Chubs was super uber sweet as to got all her latest songs on her newest album, without me asking! (Coz I didn't even know she had a new album keke >.<)

I like all her songs in this album! I especially like State of Grace, Red, Treacherous, We are never getting back together, Stay Stay Stay, Holy Ground and The Lucky One. I especially love songs with very groovy beats and chirpy tunes! :)

Check out this DVD trailer by New Creation Church that I super love!
I super love the music and especially the content. Will forever be grateful for his everlasting grace :)

State of Grace

Ahh! I have been so slow with my updates I know!
It's actually really tough keeping a blog and trying to update it frequently..
I'm such a bum heh..

Sometime in.. July? Crap, I forgot already because it was so long ago! Haha
My very first friend in SCAS (the company I work for) got married!
I knew him through a mutual friend who told me was interviewing for the same company before I went for my interview! Such a small world.

Anyway I thought he was really good looking, and he's tall!
I asked our mutual friend why didn't he tell me his friend is good looking!? :P
Me and Keunbin (Korean colleague) at Keat's traditional Peranakan wedding

He and his beautiful wife!

SCAS colleagues :)
It was crazy hot that day!! And then it suddenly poured. Mad weather!

xx

More pictures of Chubs and I :)
Ben & Amanda sneaked a photo of us while we were waiting for them at ECP!
haha cheeky guys..

Here we are checking out Coastal Settlement for the first time.
I actually really love this photo of us! <3
Left my phone in the car so I have no pictures of the food!
Took these from Chubs heh

Candid photo of me feeding him hahaha
He is the big baby.

Picture of these treasured people :)
God given friends. Thank you for such companions :)

xx

As you can see, I love to abruptly end the post with a zi lian photo of myself.
Haha!

xx

And coming up in the next few posts!!
Something exciting! :) :)

I'm gonna love you, like the women I love

Made a pair of yet another new spectacles!
I got the frame from a flea market at Scape, and got the lens fitted at my optician (whom I have been going to for years!) He charges about $40 just to have the lens fitted in which I think is pretty reasonable. It's called Optics N Vision, under a HDB block opposite the Pinnacle, at Outram.

Andddddd here I have more food posts for you!
Seems like we have been doing nothing but eating, good food and trying out new eateries :)
I promise more exciting posts other than food coming up, heh!

~~For more food pictures and accurate food items (as my memory always fail me), please visit our Burpple journals which iPhone 4 and above users may download from the app store for free!~~

Yoshimaru Ramen Bar @ Holland V

One of my favourite ramen places :)

Hakata Ramen

xx

Modesto's @ Vivo City

Ambience at Modesto's was nice, though it was crowded and rather noisy. You still have your own privacy at your own table!
I don't remember enjoying my dinner much though.. Heh
Pizza was better than my pasta, which I was struggling so much to finish!

xx

Torte @ Waterloo Street

Chubs knew about this quiet little place from reviews online (i think?) he read about the chef, and we decided to go for it before church service one Sunday.

There arn't many selection of food to choose from, which I didn't mind at all (coz I can be really undecided with a wide range) and all of them were only $10! Even on a Sunday! Good deal :) :)

I went with fish & chips (though not my first choice, I don't like fried fishes!)
it was more of a tender fried fish, instead of those really battered kind which is good for me
Came with potato wedges which were a tad hard.. and I loveeeeeee the salad.
All western dishes like these should come with a good salad, it perfects everything.

Crazy person said he was still hungry and wanted to try their buffalo wings.
And so I was forced to eat despite being filled with my main course :(
He even took an unglam photo of me in the process.

Chubs's roasted chicken, with my favouriteeeee baby potatoes!
I should have eaten this dish instead!
And I know. He still takes awesome food photos.

xx

Beach Road Prawn Mee

Ahhhh... what yummy prawn mee.. Can never go wrong with this.
We had this twice in 2 weeks!

xx

Santouka Ramen @ The Central

Supposedly one of the good ramens here, but... not for me I guess.
Doesn't give me the 'kick' feeling.
(As you can see, I didn't even bother editing this picture hahaha)

xx

Mad Nest @ East Coast Rd

Further down away from beach rd prawn mee, is this new eatery called Mad Nest.
(we also visited their sister eatery just next to them, Mad Thai!)
We visited this place quite late at night around 11pm, and it was still buzzing with people!
Staff are friendly and approachable, some of them are even Caucasians.
Maybe that's why they were all so friendly, hehe.

Sushi counter!

The whole place looks new and very modernly furnished.
I enjoyed the ambiance inside as it was quieter as to the outside where they were showing soccer matches.

Tried their ramen, which was alright.
Not the best, but will come back again to try the others because they have a wide variety of cuisines on the menu.
Really spoiled for choice!

xx

Brasserie Wolf @ Robertson Quay

Couldn't decide what to eat during National Day and we were around Robertsons again and Brassier Wolf was having this set dinner promo so we decided to go for it..
Wasn't very near where the fireworks were but we managed to catch a glimpse of it from where we were sitting!

Unfortunately, I didn't really enjoy my dinner.
I had some soup for my appetizer (which I can't remember, and I didn't Burpple it, dang!)

This was my main course:
Went ahead for a salmon fish (coz it's my favourite!) but this one was just weird.... I don't know why they added the battered bits on top. They had peas too which I don't fancy.
Oh well! It was just somewhere to fill our stomachs on that public holiday.

xx

Nakhon Kitchen (Bedok)

Had Nakhon Kitchen at the branch near my place, which I haven't been to for years!
The last time was when I was still studying so it was quite long ago.

Always love my beef noodles so I had this:
Seems a tad peppery/herbal-y for my liking. I think I prefer chinese/vietnamese beef noodles more than thai ones..
We also had sambal kangkong (never fails!) and tried some fried chicken too.

xx

Sidewalk Tavern @ Siglap

Ordered a tomato based lasagna and it was yummy till.... it tasted cold :(
They didn't heat it up probably so the insides that were thick weren't hot at all!
We took the waiter & they got it reheated up, came back piping hot
the waiter even came back to check if it was hot. Good service I must say :)

Phew~~ Here ends the the long food post! I took so many days to complete this coz I had no motivation towards the end...
More exciting posts coming up!

May you have more Chewdren ;)

Sorry I havent been posting!! (Although I don't know who I am apologizing to coz I havent given out this site to anyone to read hahaha) It is the end of my busy week at work, and finally its the weekend!!
Yay! Love all days when I am not at work, haha.

Continuing from where I left, my old church friend Ivan Chew got married and my childhood friends and I attended his wedding. :)
Us pretty girls! Hannah and Manda :)

My outfit for the day! Dress is from a blogshop (cant remember off hand!) and I got it by a backorder coz I fell in love with it at first sight <3 <3

Unfortunately my bracelet (bought online) dropped out coz I actually changed the clasps for easier wearing.
It was also very easy to come off without me knowing :( I only wore it once or twice!

Us best friend gang :)

xx

Chubs & I at Gastronomia, the street opposite Holland Village,
Jalan Merah Saga
a stretch of road with many nice cafes and restaurants to chill out and dine.
I think it's nicer than Holland V itself!

My usual mocha

Nice to people watch!

El Patio Mexican Restaurant @ Holland V

Had mexican food at Holland after, which was pretty good but I was feel so full from the "snack" that I didn't really eat much. Nachos with salsa can never go wrong though! :)
No pictures coz I was, well, full and lazy, and sleepy.

xx

Sakuraya Fish Market at Parkway Parade

Had sashimi at a dining fish market which Chubs chose.
It's a little pricey but it's really good and fresh!
I think the one we had was 0.174kg for $14.80, and it was thickly sliced and oh so yummy!!!!
Just thinking about it now makes me salivate hehehe.

Ordered a bowl of basic udon too, really nice combi with the sashimi.

Hummerstons @ Robertsons Walk

One Sunday after church we dropped by this pretty neat place on the 2nd level of the main Robertsons area where all the dining places and bar places are.

I have never heard of Hummerstons before I came here, so I was pretty excited! We had to wait a while for a table but we were directed to sit on a sofa while waiting. It was a cool spot to actually people watch!

I brought my Olympus pen along as you can see, the pictures are much better ;)

Our usual coffees.
I pretty much enjoyed my mocha!

Cute cutlery accessories albeit cumbersome on the small table.

"Hummerstons Brunch Burger"
Grilled beef burger with bacon, onions, tomato, fried egg, greens, jalepeno and fries.
Chubs couldn't finish his meal!

I think this might be the hummerstons breakfast, but what I had doesn't exactly fit their description on the menu! Hmmmm.. I swear I had potatoes in there.

Loysel's Toy

Before I start off this post, this is my drawing of how Chubs looks like.
I think it's pretty accurate, hahaha!
xx

Loysel's Toy @ Kampong Bugis

We went to Loysel's Toy because Chubs wanted to try their Papa Palheta coffee.
(seriously no idea what is that, apparently very good coffee beans?!)
If you don't already know, this guy here is a coffee fanatic
who goes around searching for the places that serve the best long black.

Not many places in Singapore that meets this fussy person's satisfaction unfortunately!

This is located near Lavender MRT, very near the Kallang River.
Rather inaccessible I must say!
But still, very fast growing. A few of my friends have already checked out this place :)

Everywhere I go, I drink only one thing. Mocha.
Because normal coffee's taste is too strong for me!
And I think I pretty love this serving :)
Ice cold chilled mocha on a hot day, makes a happy Abbie!

Our lunch. Mine was some beef burger / his was a breakfast dish.
Can't remember, it was a couple of months ago!!
Pretty good and surprisingly, I actually like the bread!
It was crispy and fresh and unusually tasty than other breads... I am not a bread person.

Just read that Loysel's Toy got their place revamped recently!
Maybe we could pay a visit again :)

xx

Ippudo @ Mandarin Gallery

Chubs brought me to this ramen place at Mandarin Gallery..
It was my first time here, (sua ku!) and oh myyyyyy
I LOVE IT!

Okay I know the photo doesn't do much justice but..
it is a heavenly serving of nice warm bowl of awesome, tasty soup.
Immediate effect, I felt like it was Christmas in my tummy.
'Christmas in your tummy' is when you feel all nice and warm and everything wonderful.
Suddenly the world just becomes a better place, and you just want to hug the person next to you.
I always get this feeling when I drink nice warm soups!
(Probably also known as food orgasm to some people)

xx

And I'll close with this,
Like finally, Chubs face debut on my blog!
(please excuse my fat face!!)
Hehehe. He does look like the cartoon I drew right???
I know~~~ I'm so artistic. Born with it baby.
