Not your ordinary bumps

[Unglam and unslightly photos ahead.]

So one day in the office, while Chubs was still in down under,
he said he wanted a picture of me (he misses me, awww)
and I took a cute photo like this!
The next thing I knew, my left eye begin to itch,
and thinking it was simply because my fringe was agitating my skin,
I would just scratch it and sweep my fringe away.
But it kinda got worse and felt that my eye was getting redder and swollen!

I know it isn't my contact lens coz I wear lenses all the time
but it was only that day that I decided to wear my specs.
Don't know why! Maybe God wanted to tell me it's not the lenses, heh.

I consulted my supervisor about it, and she told me to just wash my eye.
That's what I did but it didn't help... So I went to see the doctor across the road.
When I went to see him, only my eye was swollen. He checked and asked questions
and just gave me a cream...

I thought I would be better after resting for a while
But NOOOOO! It got totally worse when I went home!
My whole body seemed to itch so much. I couldn't stop scratching!
I don't know how I managed to sleep,
but I slept anyway and woke up the next morning feeling.. fine!
So I went to work as usual.

To my horror, this time my right eye begin to itch and swell
and noticed that it was somewhat the same timing as when my left eye begin to swell the previous day.
(I remember because it was in the afternoon and if I were to take MC,
I would totally waste it coz I already worked for most of the day!! Hahhaah)

Picture of my cock eye:
I was so scared so I quickly went to see the doctor again!
This time it was a more experienced lady..
and actually told me I had urticaria.
I was like what is urticaria!? She asked me to google.
So I did. And found that urticaria = HIVES.
At that moment in my head I was like "Hives then just say hives!!!"
I was wondering why would she use such a medical term on a patient... Layman's term is so much easier.
Then I went, "OMG I have hives!!!!"

I forgot what she medication she gave me,
but I remember one for the skin...
Which my helper helped me to apply on my back and everywhere else I couldn't reach.

Because the blood in my body caused these itchy bumps
putting just the cream wouldn't completely get rid of it.
It could only help soothe the irritation...
I didn't even feel nauseous, neither did I have diarrhea.
I felt totally fine except for the itch!

Almost every part of my body was itchy >.<
Thankfully not at the nether regions, or that would have been embarrassing.

This was how my body looked like... Without the crazy bumps.
Sorry for the unsightly photos hahaha
I looked like a cow!! Mad cow disease probably.

Legs not spared either...
This is what it looks like covered in cream.

This is what it actually looks like without the cream!
Big, fat, ugly, red and bloody itchy bumps.

My loving father helping me put his "soya sauce" on me.
Some traditional chinese medicated oil that he strong believes will help.
I call it soya sauce coz it looks like one & because I don't remember the actual name heh!

I was actually quite happy nevertheless!

The doctor actually went through all the food that I had from the previous day onwards.
Breakfast = always eat the same thing
Lunch = wonton mee which I had before and was fine
Tea = my favourite bubble tea (Woobbee!) which I always drink..

Then she asked about the clothings I wear, and my bedsheets at home...
And almost everything she could think of that could have caused this leprosy of mine.
In the end, there wasn't any verdict nor any suspicion.

Up till today, it still remains a mystery......
Hmmmmmmm....

Made with loads of effort

Quite a while ago, I chanced upon this girl who made really gorgeous bracelets on Etsy.com.
I wanted to get one (actually I wanted all) of her stuff but she was based in Canada and after adding all the shipping costs, it'll be pretty pricey! :(
So there I was, just envying and ogling from my computer screen.
Till one day, I found out how to make them!!! Apparently it is so easy & there are so many people giving tutorials on it. I was soooo excited I quickly went down to spotlight one day & got all the materials I could find!

Here is my first loot!

And here is my first bracelet -- a very simple one! I made some mistakes so it's really bad
Looks a tenth of the real thing.

And this is how the original looks like: (HelloBerry.com)

Then I went down to another store and got more of the strings!

Here is my 2nd bracelet. (or also known as friendship bracelets)
I had fun making it because it was such a breeze, I only had to be careful about the different loops with each knot I made. If you know how to knit, this is something like that!

Then I decided to make more variations since I had so much I could use.

This was a pain to do because it is very important for the chains to be straight!
One lop-sided and it won't be nice anymore.
With every thread through, I had to adjust them.. Gahhh! Too much work. haha

An orange one which a friend commented looks quite indian-ish.
It is actually really hard to wear this because how flimsy it is..
I might change the clasps if I ever bother to! Hahah

Then I went on to make the next type.. This is my favourite of all!

Braided ones!

All my handmade bracelets (except for 3rd from left)

In the process of making my 2nd one!
Which was muchhh better :)

Tadaaa~~ My pride and joy :)

Went on to buy even MORE stuff.. which I haven't really been making use of!

So far I made a braided one of a yellow/orange neon string and a bling bracelet..
(one on right)

Then I made Chubs a leather friendship bracelet but a keychain form
and hook it to his bunch of keys as a surprise! Heh :)

xx

On to other edible hand made stuff!
I tried making a Pasta Caesar Salad one day because I love both pasta & caesar salad!
It's suppose to be a dry (no sauce) and cold type of dish.. which is very easy to put together.

Just use romanian vegetables, cherry tomatoes, boiled egg, bacan bits, and other stuff you would like,
cook the pasta, and very importantly, add the vinegar/dressing - I used Worcestershire sauce.
Top it with grated cheese, and you're good to go!

Other ingredients that I would like to add in will be some potatoes and chicken slices (both diced coz it's suppose to be easy to eat), ooh yum yum! If you are lazy, you can just use chopped diced ham that is readily available from the supermarket (mainly Cold Storage). I think it is called "unwanted pizza toppings" haha!
If you still find it dry, you may want to add some caesar salad dressing :) Basically, just go with your feelings~~~ Hee

This is a good dish to pack and eat at the office because it's easy, fuss free & doesn't smell (so you can eat at your table without disturbing your colleagues' stomaches :P) Gotta put it in the fridge for the best serving though!

Here are my pretty food equipments for me to take along to work for overtime days!
All from Daiso :)
(which i have not used at all hahahahah, but hey, still very pretty right?)

Four Letter Word

So after meeting for about a few weeks, Chubs told me he had to go on a business/personal trip to Sydney..
And told me to take half day on the day he was flying off.
It was on a Friday, and I thought why not?! My weekend would come earlier than usual!
Whoop whoop! ;)

Coffee at Oriole - Chub's arm made a special debut on my blog! Ha!

He told me he actually has plans for the evening,
which he was quite secretive about.
I even had to ask him about what I should wear!
After gathering all the information, I thought it sounded very much like the yet-to-open
Gardens by the Bay!

I didn't really wanna spoil my surprise.. So I kept mum about it...
TILL, I spoiled it by reading Facebook!
I saw someone posting a pair of tickets to a concert at Gardens,
on the same exact day and time!! Alamak~~!!! *slaps forehead*

I asked him, are you taking me to see Jason Mraz!?!?!

Yes he is!!!! Awwwww.... I love Jason Mraz!
How did he even know that!
Kekeke.. Couldn't stop grinning.

My first ever outdoor concert...
It was absolutely lovely :)

He sang all my favourite songs, and some that I didn't know but loved it anyway!
Especially when he ended with I Won't Give Up..
Mannnn~~~ This Chubs sure did score some brownie points with me!
Teehee.

We arn't that young anymore

Sometime ago, my colleagues organized yet another chill out session!
I love chill out sessions! Not that I am an alcoholic.. It's fun when you hang out with right company!
This time we headed to Flair, which is situated in the middle of Raffles Place & Tanjong Pagar.
We just walked there from our office after dinner!

The place is cool because they have this darts machines that you can pay to play! $2 for one game.
The first time I came across this machine was in Beer Market last year but they only had a few machines.
This place had one whole row of them! But it was too popular so we had to wait for one to be available.
We even bet who is loser so that he/she will treat drinks. Unfortunately, I suck at it! Bahhhh...

Other than that, they also provided poker cards & dices for us to entertain ourselves.
So we played indian poker!!! It was my first time playing and it was really fun!!
We even tweaked the rules such that those people who really want someone to lose badly, will fill up this main cup of beer, and the loser has to "tar" the whole thing down! Haha!
It was especially fun coz we all knew who we wanted to target. Hiak hiak hiak~~~!!

After that, apparently we thought the night was still young, and had this crazy impromptu decision to go to Zouk!
Omg. I don't even remember when was the last time I stepped into Zouk.
Ivan and CS puked I think, and Melvin was walking barefooted.
The night was a little crazy haha, but the girls remained sober!

After 2 hours or so, all of us were absolutely tired & I really wanted to go home and rest.
Because I look the most chui when I am tired! :(

But they all psychos wanted to eat ba ku teh!!!
And so we went... To somewhere nearby that they know of.

Half of the food! More came later....
On which BKT was more appetizing, definitely the one at Rangoon road.
10 times much better! Heh.

I think this will be the last time I'll ever go clubbing..
As a single girl! Alamak~~!! :P

Daddy's day!

On my dad's birthday, the Tall family headed to The French Stall (TFS) Bistrot at Serangoon Road
(very near Farrer Park MRT)
It was everyone's first time there and I like that it was a quiet place during dinner.
Quiet doesn't mean no business though, there were quite a number of patrons at that time!

Fresh bread with butter

Dad & Mum :) So nice to see her smiling!

Do they look a like? Heh

Do we look a like?!

Pumpkin soup

Caesar salad

French onion soup, my favourite!

I can't remember what were dishes we had... Nor can I really tell from the photos... >.<
but I know we had some chicken, beef, pork, and maybe a lamb chop somewhere?!
Hee, pardon me!

Brownie and ice cream for the birthday man!

Mummy singing happy birthday to daddy. Heehee :) <3

xx

On Father's Day, my family and my Da Sao's (brother's gf) family had a Ba Ku Teh dinner together at Rangoon Road,
pretty much close to the TFS!
I love family feasts like this!!
The "bah" was tender and I loveee the soup, though a tad too peppery!
I also had a few slices of pig's skin - known to be full of collagen, which is good for your skin!
(I hope.. I ate quite abit!)

My dearest brother treated, must give good impression to in-laws, hahaha, thanks kor!!!

Om nom nom!

The first few

One fine day somewhere in June, I started eating really good food because I met a new friend who is a real foodie!
You shall know more about this particular person later! I will call him Chubs for now, heh ;)
My tummy has been really spoiled and I seriously think I have put on some weight ever since.
Yikes~~~ but good though! I'm actually enjoying and getting excited with this "change" that I kinda never experienced...
(it is hard for me to gain weight, really!)

xx

Sun With Moon at Wheelock Place
My first time at Sun With Moon! I had beef sukiyaki which was realllyyy filling.
But that isn't the highlight... We had some salmon sushi with mayo thingy, I really can't remember coz it was a few months back.
But I still remember the really awesome tofu cheesecake!
I think everyone who goes there think that is really good, please try if you haven't!

xx

P.S. Cafe at Dempsey Hill
It was my first time having truffle fries, and I had it at P.S Cafe!
Yes I am slow like that! I thought it was the best fries I have ever had.
So YUMS! :))

xx

TWG at MBS
It was also my first time having TWG ice cream!
I've always walked pass the pretty TWG cafes at MBS and always thought how nice it would be if one day I could sit on those big comfy chairs and sip my cup of tea.
And one day, I finally did!
There were so many types of teas to choose from, it was a really hard to decide because the names of the tea didn't exactly describe the kind it is, nor were there any description.
Basically, we had just decided on the nicest name. I think we ended up choosing a Paris one, but alas, it tasted horrible.

If you're there the next time, just ask the staff what is the most popular!
Ice cream tea was unusual for me!
I'm always having the very common flavours like chocolate and vanilla,
but this time i tried the macha green tea and it was nice :)

xx

Imperial Treasure at Ngee Ann City
I have always liked dim sum but after visiting Imperial Treasure I think I have grown to love it even more!
Yum cha has a special meaning in my heart now, and I enjoyed everything (except for the chicken feet) we ordered because it was so yummy.
I think one of the requirements to get a job there is to be able to speak cantonese, because every single staff who works there knows how to!
I'm a hokkien, and seeing Chubs order in Canto makes me think that it is so cool :)
Yes I'm easy like that!

xx

Group Therapy at Duxton Road

Been wanting to check out this cool and some what *new* eatery near my office with a colleague but when we wanted to,
we found out that they closed early from Mondays-Thursdays!
So if you are thinking of visiting after work, do go on Fridays when it'll be open after office hours.
I had managed to check it out on a Saturday evening, and it was pretty quiet!
It is a small place so getting seats can be quite hard.

Some of these pictures are taken with my Olympus EP-3 like these at Group Therapy!
I'm not exactly a good photographer, but because I have a good camera, everything I take seems to look good.
However, that was what I thought till I met Chubs. He seriously takes really damn good food photos!
The followings are taken by him:

Chicken pot pie

Beef stew (takes a while to come!)

[Isn't it extraordinary?! I take nice NORMAL photos, but he takes awesome ones with awesome angles!
Okay enough of the praises... :P]

I like the beef one more in my opinion because, well, I am a potato person so the stew definitely adds brownie points because of that.
But I love the veggies that came with the pie!
Would like to visit Group Therapy again to enjoy the cosiness, with the really good mocha that they serve :)

xx

Jones the Grocer at Dempsey Hill

Love places with high ceilings and Jones the Grocer is one of them!
It's such an English feel that makes me all excited teehee...
I'm guessing the Caucasians would get their stock of jam and cheese and whatnots from here? I wouldn't though, I prefer my kaya toast coz I'm asian like that!
But still, a nice place to catch up with friends over the teas and desserts they serve!

xx

That's all the food for now! Told you my tummy has been spoiled rotten. I'll be back for more!
